Our History

Parker School of Gymnastics was opened in 1995 by Gil and Tyler Salazar. The Salazars have a long history with Colorado gymnastics. Gil and his wife Gloria built and opened various other gymnastics training centers in the Denver Metro area including: Aurora School of Gymnastics and Castle Rock School of Gymnastics. The Salazars had a great love and respect for the sport of gymnastics and made it their mission to bring the sport to as many children as possible. Gil and his son, Tyler, ran PSG until 1998 when JR Jaquay was hired as the new Gym Director. JR brought 18 years of coaching experience and a new vision to PSG. Having worked at three National Team Training Centers JR believed PSG had a yet undiscovered path of direction. JR worked as Gym Director for one year until he bought the business from the Salazars in 1999. With enrollment doubling in the two years since purchasing the business JR is planning an exciting 2012 for PSG. Currently in its original building, PSG will be planning an expansion in the summer of 2012 that will hopefully end with a new state-of-the-art training facility that will allow development of preschool children to world-class athletes. It is the dream of JR to provide your child with an experience that will create a life-long love with the sport of gymnastics and to create a bond in the community of Parker through community service.
